friendfeed hopes to make our lives less messy

Ccap.giflearly, I’ve been distracted lately. You can check out what I’ve been up to at the AFI Digital Content Lab. But couldn’t help checking in to mention a new online service that looks like it might be something well worth subscribing to. FriendFeed is the brainchild of four individuals who all were instrumental in launching several Google apps–Maps, Adsense, GMail and Google Groups. Not a bad pedigree.

What makes FriendFeed worth it? In this age where we all have way too many social network identities and threads, FriendFeed not only let’s you aggregate your own feeds from sites like Digg, Flickr, del.icio.us, Twitter, YouTube and your own blog, it let’s you subscribe to the aggregated feeds of other members. It’s a well-designed, well-thought-out application that could point the way to a more streamlined approach to keeping up amidst all the social network whirl.
